Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Sorry this is a little late in the day....that's what happens when you work on Saturdays! I did make Irish Coffee Blondies (coffee in the batter, whiskey in the glaze!) for the library today, but I couldn't seem to pull it together to make Irish Stew or Corned Beef and Cabbage. So, my sweet JSM took me to one of Vancouver's finest dining establishments, Lapellah, for one of my favorite dishes. This is particularly special since I love cabbage and never make it at home because JSM doesn't like it. He'd rather eat shoe leather. It must be true love :)

Corned beef and cabbage with new potatoes and a cheddar drop biscuit.....yum!

JSM got the equally delicious, but less festive, short ribs and grits....wow!

What a fantastic ending to my first full week as a real, official, permanent, librarian! I guess I can chalk it up to the luck o' the Irish (by marriage anyway...) But I sure am grateful for all the blessings in my life and a job I love....even if I have to pay for corned beef and cabbage instead of make it myself! So of course, for all I am thankful for and all I wish for our friends and family..... an Irish Blessing.
May love and laughter light your days,
and warm your heart and home.
May good and faithful friends be yours,
wherever you may roam
May peace and plenty bless your world
with joy that long endures.
May all life's passing seasons
bring the best to you and yours!
