Sun shining on the kitchen table and the daffodils.
Stop the presses! It was 64 degrees today...what? Yes, that's correct, 64 degrees. To this Florida native what was once jacket weather is now open-toe shoes, crop pants with a sweater just-in-case kind of weather. And I love it! There's very little rain, hardly any clouds, and more sun than I've seen in months! I welcomed the time change because it makes for beautiful evening skies.....and I'm not gonna lie, a little "extra" time when I get home from work (or so it seems.)
From the 5th floor of the Vancouver Community Library.....a nice change from rain clouds!
The cherry blossoms are my favorite.
So beautiful against a blue sky.
Cherry blossoms in NW Portland. Love, love, love!
Truthfully, the mornings are still cold (see below) and the evenings are still chilly, but we have spring fever and there's no going back now. I've packed away most of sweaters, cleaned out my closet and JSM has been busy getting the yard ready for planting and growing season which will be here before you know it (June.)
I can't get too excited yet.....this is 8 am.
JSM hard at work at his version of spring cleaning.
My version of spring cleaning - complete! My shoes finally have an organized home in my 1970's closet. I still have to get on my hands and knees to pull them out, but at least now there's room for all my handbags!
Spring cleaning happened just in time for my childhood Easter decorations to arrive.
I have the most wonderful mother in the whole world. She saved EVERYTHING! And she has preserved most of my childhood in 2 large Rubbermaid containers in her garage. She periodically sends me items and I received a box full of memories last week. The package included: a stuffed animal, a baby dress on my mother's childhood hanger, my brownie sash, a pair of booties I wore as an infant during my 9 months in the hospital, a coloring book from our Easter at the White House circa 1984 (which I wasn't allowed to color in!), some handmade Easter decorations from my great grandmother, and a handmade 1980's geese-themed kitchen towel (for my hope chest!) I never had a real hope chest, but great grandmother was of that generation and it makes me smile to think that she made this towel just for me.....when I was 12!
Surprisingly, the colors match and it fits perfectly in my 2013 kitchen! I love it even if it has geese on it :)
I just came across your blog while looking into Brush Prairie a bit more. We are closing on our BP home tomorrow and are so excited! Hoping you can tell me though.... what internet options are there? I have only found Century link with 7 mbp. Do you get anything else in your neck of the woods?
