In general Oman was much sleepier and more authentic than it's glitzy neighbor to the north. We spent most of the time at the hotel not only because we needed a vacation from our vacation, but also because The Chedi Muscat was so very beautiful - three pools, a brand new spa, green grass, palm trees, alfresco dining, real alcohol, and Cuban cigars for JSM!
We did take a day trip to the Musandam Peninsula north of Muscat - the fjords of the Middle East
Spectacular scenery and one of the most relaxing days I've ever experienced.
The Chedi Muscat. The best hotel......ever!
The Sultan's palace in old Muscat
I love Arabic coffee (which really is more like Chai)

I look forward to our next adventure.....who knows where life will take us!
