It's hard to believe how many years have passed.....this is my first Easter without any grandparents and this year it's just the two of us. I still wore a dress to church, prepared a feast (well sort, of, thanks to Honey Baked Ham) and we are watching golf, The Masters, to be exact. There's something comforting about golf on Easter. Maybe it's the memories it conjures up, maybe it's because golf is one of those sports that people of all ages enjoy, maybe it's the reminders that as much as things change, many things stay the same. My father will be 70 this year, a similar age to my grandfather when I remember him sitting on our sofa watching golf and my dad is now a grandfather himself. While he may not be watching golf today, I'm thrilled to be carrying on the tradition, in honor of both of our families, and making memories of our own.
You're never too old for an Easter Basket! The only difference is when you're 46, you get books by the likes of Rachel Maddow, Deadwood, and a solid dark chocolate bunny. It's fun to be married to the world's oldest teenager!
In the morning light....
JSM pulled out his Obama cuff links for the occasion....nice! I think they're upside down though.
The fabric of my Easter dress. I love, love, love the bright colors - especially around here!
The tulips are in bloom on the front doorstep!
In the church bulletin this morning in honor of Little Grandma and JSM's dad.....we love and miss you!
A table set for two!
Using the china we got as a wedding gift for maybe the second time ever. I still love it 5 years later!
My favorite ham, roasted potatoes with thyme, carrots, and asparagus with warm vinaigrette....yum!
Happy Easter!
