We drank lots of local beer and ate Portland cart food....
Ate out of our garden.......
Visited Silverton, OR, to see The Gordon House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.....
The living room with built in furniture, library, and storage behind the seat cushion.
Beautiful beamed ceilings
His design eliminated the need for window treatments yet provided privacy.
The original Jenn-Air downdraft system....glad mine is 50 years newer!
FLW loved horizontal lines which make people feel grounded. He used them inside and out. Notice the tile grout lines match inside and out for a seamless inside/outside feel.
Such a handsome couple!
JSM was ready to move in...and so was I! We loved it!
We relaxed around the house......
Visited Auntie Kimmy at work......
Stella couldn't get in the new library fast enough!
Played at the Early Learning Center at the library....
And found the perfect spot to sit and read!
We saw Multnomah Falls.....
Stella walked all the way to the bridge!
And on the way home we stopped for this beautiful view of The Gorge....
Sisters!
Stella was such a trooper walking everywhere. But, she insisted on bringing her bag of rocks, the only souvenir she wanted from Multnomah Falls! We may have a future geologist :)
The view from inside the lookout building....so beautiful!
We tried to go the farmer's market on the Park Blocks in Portland, but it was closing down so Stella took her first trip to New Seasons market for gluten-free chocolate chip cookies....
I think I speak for all of us when I say we had one of the most enjoyable visits ever! Sadly, there is never enough time when visiting with loved ones. Sister and family, we miss you already.....come back soon!
xoxo
