The shower was a bibliophile baby shower (we were a group of librarians after all!) So, the decorations reflected all things books!
A banner of "homemade" books....
The menu.....notice the names of the dishes ;)
There wasn't a traditional cake at this shower because I offered gluten-free balsamic strawberries with basil whipped cream. Instead, I made the cake out of diapers!
The party favors....bookmarks, of course! The front (left) and back (right).
More decorations
A couple weeks later, I was off to Boise, ID, for the annual Pacific Northwest Library Association conference. What fun! The conference is made up of Washington, Idaho, Montana, British Columbia, and Alberta. So, the perspective is international even though its a regional conference. The people were friendly, the break-out sessions were useful, and Boise was a great town!
The Boise Public Library
LOVED the old bound magazines.....these are issues of House Beautiful from the 1920's! This is a librarian's dream, I assure you! Who knew it was published way back then?
Fresh potato chips....it's Boise!
Fork downtown Boise- excellent!
According to the package this candy bar made Idaho famous. If I had to choose, I'd go with the real potatoes! Not my favorite....
At the library
The crew from Vancouver who attended the conference. We love libraries!
The California trip deserves it's own post. More photos coming from our trip to Crater Lake, the drive down the California coast, and our weekend in Napa celebrating the wedding of the year!
