Fall Fun on the Prairie!

Isn't it beautiful?

The drizzly weather has set in....sort of. It rained all morning. The nice thing about October is that skies clear up in the late afternoon and there's plenty of time left over for fun. This was our sky this afternoon so we decided to head to the corn maze at Bizi Farm on this last weekend before Halloween....

We were supposed to get a free pumpkin, but they ran out....

I'd never been to a corn maze before and JSM hadn't been to one since the 1970's so I really had no idea what to expect. The last time we'd been to a pumpkin patch was three years ago so I wasn't exactly sure what to wear. Try as I might I'm just not very "pacific northwest" so I'm sure it comes as no surprise that I dressed inappropriately as usual. I'm the girl who "forgets" to put on a coat even though I have a closet full. I'm also the lady who wore patent leather clogs to snow tube on Mount Hood.

And yes, I'm the woman who donned leopard print flats at the corn maze!
(Forgetting that it rained all morning long......)

So, we set off.....

But the path was muddy!! It was a good excuse to get JSM to hold my hand (note to self - dressing inappropriately has its benefits!)

I had so much fun! JSM led us successfully through the whole maze using the map to guide us right to the exit.

Gourds for sale!

Isn't he handsome?

We passed this dairy farm on the way home and the light was irresistible!

Bizi Farms ran out of pumpkins so we stopped at a little farm down the street (on our way home) to get pumpkins for the front doorstep. This farm doesn't even have a name yet, but I'm glad we were able to support a small start-up in our neighborhood.

Boo!

Some magnificent fall foliage in Brush Prairie!

We spotted this family of deer on the golf course.....

Now, were closer to being ready for trick or treaters on Thursday...

We need to clean our pumpkins and blow off these needles that blew in like crazy today!! Leaves were swirling all around this last weekend of October. I predict we'll be wintry by early November with all the leaves gone for another season. I love fall! I wish I could capture it and keep it forever. I guess I'll have to settle for my memories and these photos....
XOXO
