Babies, friends, a promotion, and lots of ice cream. What more could a girl ask for?

What whirlwind this month has been! These days that's just life, but at least I'm enjoying it. I talk a big game about relaxing, but I've never really been good at that anyway. I like to pack my schedule full with work, volunteering, church, and friends, but I always try to make time for fun. In the last 30 days I've met my dear friend's new daughter, sweet baby Imogen, interviewed with 30 people for a promotion, visited PJD and her baby Ethan in Seattle, received said promotion (yay!!), saw some local sites with KS2 (little sister of KS, my friend who recently moved to Seattle) and her friend WH from L.A. (who did a great job teaching me to parallel park), transitioned into a new job, and hosted an ice cream competition in my freezer ;) That part was JSM's idea, but who could argue with that??

The sweetest sleeping baby there ever was....

The littlest boyfriend....he's such a flirt at 9 months and such a precious boy. I love ECDR!

Seattle on the verge of fall.

.
I been visiting Seattle since 2001 and I never tire of this view from Queen Anne.

PJD and I have been friends for 13 years and counting.

A trip to Seattle is not complete without a salted caramel cupcake (and more!) from my favorite place.

Reason #285 why I love the northwest? These beautiful sunflowers that grow on the sidewalk.

Happy birthday, PJD!

One word: anchovies. Three words: Love, love, love!

A most excellent tapas at Harvest Vine

Seriously. We ate every last piece!

Wishing I would have tried the tomato dessert with white pepper ice cream (what???)

Where are we???

Just kidding. KS2 and WH at Multnomah Falls. I love visitors!!

KS2 and Whitney's visit coincided with the weekend I found out I got a promotion to branch manager at a library 4.5 miles from my house! I'm thrilled about the move to Battle Ground and I look forward to serving the community I live in. We celebrated with the world's most expensive ice cream (OK, so that's probably not true, but Jeni's should be saved for a special occasion!) We'd been hosting an ice cream competition in the freezer. The contestants were McConnells (from Santa Barbara) and Graeter's (out of Cincinnati). I told JSM that if I got the promotion I'd buy Jeni's (based in Columbus, OH.) So.......the Queen City chocolate was fantastic, but the real winner is McConnell's Chocolate Covered Strawberry! Wow!!

The selection at Zupan's

It's cold, cold, cold, with a spicy finish. You just can't stop eating it! Excellent recommendation, Whitney!

This was on my desk when I arrived on Wednesday. I am so excited to start my job and from the looks of it they're finally glad to have a manager. Yay!
I'm looking forward to the pace slowing down a bit now that my commute is a total 7 minutes. Countdown to Cape Town: 30 days. Life is good.
XOXO
