JSM had a little accident on a business trip to Charlotte. I felt so bad for him.....To be honest, I tell him all the time not to wear those desert boots, but when it comes to fashion he has his own ideas. Maybe next time he'll listen to me :) At any rate, he was walking back to his hotel and the tip of his desert boot got stuck on the light rail track in front of the hotel. That's never good. And of course, he went hurling through the air and landed flat on his face! Poor JSM! What's worse than a bruised ego and a scraped face? He knocked out one front tooth and chipped the other! The good news? He already knocked out his two front teeth years ago as a young hockey player so he's been down this road before. The bad news? He had to fly all the way home with a jagged smile and an uncomfortable mouth. Bless his heart! I wish I had been there to comfort him, but I was ready with a bowl of clam chowdah (his favorite!) when he got home. That's the least I could do. JSM has a beautiful smile (with or without teeth) and I am so glad it was only the teeth which can be repaired. I'm happy to report he is on the mend and I can see his tooth-full grin once again which will be cosmetically enhanced sometime in October.

JSM's mug after the accident.....he's an old pro. He already has a post from a previous hockey incident! Poor JSM - nobody wants to be a pro at losing teeth!
Back to the "fall season".....I have been celebrating all weekend by adding some fall decorations around the house. The wreath by the front door once again masquerades another season. This time it is wrapped in fall leaves with a few sunflower touches and of course, our monogram.
Thanks, Pinterest for the inspiration!
The laundry room door (which is always open) gets dressed up for the season!
Taking advantage of the last of the farmers market flowers....only a few more weeks left. Love the sunflower!
I loved the messages on these little pumpkins which are now proudly displayed by the fireplace.
Indeed.
In honor of the new season I will be dusting off two of my favorite recipes this week. Rachael Ray's Pumpkin Black Bean Soup and Pumpkin Stuffed Shells from Country Living. Seriously, two of the best fall comfort foods ever! I highly recommend both. I'm so excited....speaking of cooking. My aunt sent me a bunch of pumpkin recipes she lovingly clipped from her local newspaper. So sweet of her since she knows I LOVE pumpkin. I look forward to trying them and I will definitely report back on the results. Enjoy the start of this bountiful season wherever you may be!
Hi, Kim! I finally, finally, FINALLY found your blog! Your fall decorations look great! I've been thinking I may have to cave in and join Pinterest myself . . . who couldn't use a little inspiration?
ReplyDeleteAnyway, consider yourself bookmarked! :) Dorothy
Mmmmm. I can't wait to make the pumpkin stuffed shells. I love pumpkin recipes. Fall is also my favorite season. Yay! Melanie
